April 1 is National Census Day and it is extremely important that every person residing in District 5 along with all the residents of the city of Dallas be counted! The information gathered by the Census Bureau will guide decisions related to public health, neighborhood improvements, transportation needs, education, senior services and much more for the next 10 years.
The population totals from the census count determine how $400 billion in federal funding is allocated to our diverse communities, and also determines the number of seats each state receives in the US House of Representatives.
It takes only 10 minutes to answer 10 questions… which will affect the next 10 years of our lives. Be a part of the process that ensures fair and accurate funding allocations and secures the resources that Dallas needs and deserves, a complete count is in our hands. Make sure that you and your family counts in 2010.
